Additional Xbox 360 Intercooler TS Information

Utilize Nyko¿s cutting edge TempSmart technology to keep your Xbox 360 console running at optimal environmental conditions with the Intercooler TS. The Intercooler TS provides increased air flow away from the 360 which allows the console to perform in a cooler, better ventilated environment ideal for cramped entrainment centers. No internal modification of the Xbox 360 is required. Nyko¿s TempSmart technology automatically powers on the Intercooler¿s fans when needed, and continue to cool the console even after the system has been powered down till a proper ambient temperature has been reached. The Intercooler TS is powered by a sleek AC adaptor, requiring no batteries or USB cables, allowing for a clean and easy installation, perfect for any home entertainment set up. The design of the Intercooler TS blends seamless with the design of the Xbox 360 console, and works in both the horizontal and vertical position.

What Customers Say About Xbox 360 Intercooler TS:

It keep the system cool but i think it a little weak.I would give it a five with the combination with the cooling station and with it keep it really cool.

It does help. One nice feature is that because this uses its own power supply, it will run, if the temperature is high enough, even after you've powered off the 360. I tried it on a new Jasper mother board based system (manufactured late Oct '08 until now) and the noise was extremely apparent.Of course, using this on the system I had repaired, it being a first generation 360, you can't tell the fans are running over the 360's own fan and DVD drive noise. So depending on the model 360 you have, you will either notice right away that the fans are running or you'll never know. One thing to keep in mind, if the Inter Cooler ever stops functioning and you don't know it, your system WILL over heat. It draws the maximum amount of air out of the system, more than the 360 fans themselves can even push out of the back of the console. It may not be the best solution to avoid the RROD problems, but it is definitely better than just waiting for it to happen again.

Now you can shut the system off and you know that when the Inter Cooler stops running, the system should be quite cool inside. The one downside to this device is that it is loud. I sent it to a repair shop, since MS wanted way more than it was worth to repair it.When I received it back, I decided to attempt to do something about the amount of heat this beast was generating. For those that have the time, ability and money to spend on internal fans, this solution isn't for you. In this instance it will act just like a big block behind the system fans, which means the inside will get to hot and the system will power down. Way to go Nyko.So does this little gem help. It gave up the ghost to the RROD problem about a month ago. The best way to keep your older 360 cool isn't with external fans, it's with beefy internal fans. But most people don't have the time or inclination to open the system up and make the modifications necessary. For those people, this is the next best thing.Older Inter Coolers required you to draw power directly through the power supply on the 360. Yes is the short answer. Why is this good.

If this happens, remove the Inter Cooler, let the system cool internally and stop running it with the Inter Cooler until you can replace it.Over all I am extremely happy with this purchase. To preface this story, I own an original Xbox 360, the version WITHOUT HDMI capability. This actually added to the heat generated by the system and most likely helped speed the 360 into careening into RROD land. This new Inter Cooler has it's own external power supply, so no more sucking power from the 360 itself. Because if you don't follow the ritual of leaving your system running 15-30 minutes on the dashboard, when you power the system down ALL of the nasty hot air sits inside the system, taking a long time to dissipate, which adds to premature death of internal components.

After the second time I had a local friend repair it and he informed me that the most recent failure was heat related, despite the console being in a well ventilated area. No standing on its side for me anymore) and no drawing power from the console. The unit clips on over the rear vents adding more power to draw off heat.

I consider it a fair trade for the extended life of my 360. Most other reviews are saying it isn't bad, and they would be right but that shouldn't imply that it's quiet.

Judging by the temperature of disks coming out of the tray after a few hours of use the fans are doing an excellent job.My only complaint is noise. It's easily enough noise to cause distraction watching videos but generally doesn't disturb gameplay because of the volume level I play at.Considering that the console would make that kind of racket on it's own anyway I don't mark the noise against the Intercooler TS but be aware of what you're getting.

I've had an Xbox 360 go red ring of death on me twice. So I went looking for cooling solutions to improve the life of my console and settled on the TS.The two biggest attractions are the ability to work in horizontal position (I witnessed the wreckage of a brand new copy of Call of Duty.

The noise level is comparable to the noise that is made when the built in fans are running at maximum.

The Xbox itself is significantly cooler to the touch and disks are no longer hot when removed after being used for a while. In short, this things is well worth the investment and Microsoft should incorporate something like this into future models. You can put you hand in from of it and feel the warm air being extracted. But hey, that's my kids problem. I purchased this for my son's Xbox in hopes of preventing yet another RRoD. It snapped right on and very quickly started evacuating hot air from the depths of the Xbox. Be advised that the fans can be a bit noisy when the thermal sensor turns them to max.

5 stars. It keeps my entire xbox cool to the touch, and games exit at room temperature. I tested out a few fans for the Xbox, the first intercooler which took power away from the xbox, some random chinese brand that connected via usb to the xbox, and this one. I must say it is nice to not have to worry about turning it on or off via the external power supply, and the smart temp feature is gouge. It is louder than all get out, but a small price to pay for making sure you box doesn't blow up.
